Since the 2009/10 season, Philippe Jordan ist the music director of the Paris opera and a guest conductor at all the leading orchestras in Europe and the USA. He conducted the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER in 2006 and 2007.

BIOGRAPHY

David Afkham, one of the most interesting conductors of his generation, is assistant conductor of the GUSTAV MAHLER YOUTH ORCHESTRA since 2009. He has already conducted it at several concert occasions most recently in Lissabon, the Salzburg Festival and the Sagra Musicale Umbra in Perugia. In addition to winning the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition 2008, he was the first winner of the 2010 Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award and appeared withnumerous major orchestras.

BIOGRAPHY

Sir Colin Davis collaborates with the leading orchestras and opera companies of the world. Accoladed and showered with awards, the Staatskapelle Dresden appointed him as the orchestra’s first and, up to today, its only honorary conductor. In addition, he has served as President of the London Symphony Orchestra since 2007. Following a project in 2008, this is the second time Sir Colin is touring with the GMJO.
